Gift Of A Gorgeous Decorative Wooden Bird Feeder

One of the prettiest bird feeders I have seen in a long time, I think this would make a gorgeous gift for any nature and bird lover.

I think most people would feel that this was a little bit extra special bird feeder and one that many people would adore.

Bird Feeder - Unique and Decorative Wooden Bird Feeders - Natural Fir Wood | Bed & Breakfast Design | Assembled | Gifts & Décor | Great Reviews | LOVE this or 100% Money Back Guarantee (by Best Home Products)

Practical as it is a feeder for birds and also will look very beautiful in many gardens. So as a gift for a gardener who loves birds and wildlife it is perfect.

It measures 7 ¾ x 6 ¾ x 9 inches and is made of natural Fir wood. There are many little lovely details here and the colours are bright and cheerful.

On a practical note you can lift up the roof for easy filling and for cleaning out which makes life a lot easier. As Bird watchers will know it is important to keep any bird feeder clean and free from disease and debris.

It has a good capacity as it holds up to five cups full of birdseed. You can use sunflower seeds, niger seeds, a mixed seed bag, most seed type mixes really will be fine in here. If you felt generous you could include a bag of good seeds with the gift of the bird feeder.

Hang the Bird Feeder up for a few days with just a little seed in it so that birds get used to the idea of a new item in the garden. Then as they start to investigate and visit and understand that it is a good thing for them, it can be filled up more.

It is important to feed the birds in our gardens, especially in the winter to help them through the cold and dark times. However, also feeding seed in Spring and other times can be very helpful as they brood eggs and are rushing around feeding the chicks when they hatch it is a wonderful source of easy food for the adults. Migratory birds also appreciates a good nutritious source of food after their long flights.

Hang up a Birdfeeder like this and more birds will visit your garden. This is good for your garden as many will also eat the pests you do not want there and good for you as you get the pleasure of watching fascinating beautiful birds.  You may even encourage more birds to nest in the garden if you have the right habitat.

Flower Garden Birdhouse Nature Art Pattern Fleece Blanket

As it is still freezing cold where I live and currently wet, rainy and very windy,  I think a lovely gift for a gardener who cannot yet get outside would be a lovely warm fleece blanket!

This one I found features a quaint birdhouse in a colorful backyard flower garden. It is perfect for now if you live somewhere cold in winter. Very warm and cosy and would be good in any room in the home.

In Spring and Summer when it's warmer it could be easily used as a picnic blanket or to take to outdoor events or when taking a rest from gardening. It could even be kept in the car to wrap up in for when returning from those long days out visiting other gardens for inspiration!

I think it would also be lovely over a bench or a swing seat in summer all ready for if the evenings got a bit chilly to cuddle up in and stay outdoors just that little bit longer...

The Promise Of Seeds, A Thoughtful Gift

You know barely has Christmas day passed when I start once again looking forward to the gardening year!

I often begin to look at seeds during January, in fact, it has been known for me, given half a chance to contemplate seed catalogues on Christmas Day itself!

2,000 Seeds, Wildflower Mixture "Dryland" (20 Species) Seeds By Seed Needs

Well, my excuse is that if sometimes I get money for a gift I like to spend it on something for the garden.

It is generally too cold and frosty to be buying and planting out anything this time of year so seeds are a good option to either start off now somewhere a bit warmer or to keep until you can start to sow.

To a non-gardener it might seem a little strange to get all excited over packets of seeds and seriously wonder if they really would make a good gift. However, to many gardeners, I think a packet of seeds means promise and joy and looking forward to the future. I have several times been given the gift of a pot and several packets of seeds and I loved it!

I love wildflowers and due to the decline of wildflowers in our countryside because of building and crops and pollution etc I do feel that it is a good thing if gardeners can be involved in making  maybe just a little patch of the garden a wildflower place. With wildflowers come bees and butterflies and all manner of insects that help the garden and are lovely to have.

There are literally thousands of different types of seeds and seed combinations. What you can grow may depend on where you live and what your soil conditions are so rather than recommend one type of seed please search for a seed type that you love.

For me, I like a wildflower mix, a riot of colour and different types of plants. I also want to attract bees and butterflies so I look for that now in plants and flowers too. Then there are seeds that you can plant for specific colour and type of season, sun or shade conditions.

We must expect that not every seed will germinate but should get a decent rate of return on a seed packet. Often the details on amazon will state the anticipated rate of germination. Of course, all seeds will need sowing and looking after properly but all instructions are there on the packet. The world really is your oyster when it comes to seeds!

So if you are looking for a gift for yourself or a gift for someone you know loves to sow and propagate plants seeds may be a welcome present!

To sow seeds you generally need the following items such as a fork, garden trowel, watering can, labels, rake and gloves. Seeds may be sown into well-prepared ground or into a window box or pot. If I was growing wildflower seeds I would do both, some into the soil and some into pots.

Now if I was giving or receiving seeds as a gift I think I would also include a  pretty or useful pot to plant the seeds into, just to make it extra special. Seeds are often relatively inexpensive so its nice to team them up with another gift.

With a pot you can choose a variety of price points and type and style from whimsical, to classic, funny to useful and practical. It is really up to you what you think the person you are buying for would like most.

Book Gift For A Gardener- How to Design A Garden To Attract Bees.

I do love to give garden and wildlife books as gifts. As a gardener, I also love to receive them!

They give me valuable inspirational reading in the winter when gardening is more difficult and then I can implement the ideas gained as soon as  I get out there again!

Whether it's a physical copy of a book or a Kindle version it is lovely to give a gift of knowledge and learning that can be read and the information used time and time again. This is such a book. Plants and Planting Plans for a Bee Garden: How to Design Beauitful Borders That Will Attract Bees

Any gardener will know how important bees are to the plants and flowers in the garden. Many will also know the plight of the bee, in that it is suffering and disappearing all too fast from our planet. Without bees we will all suffer as they are one of the main pollinators of our food.

Sometimes we feel helpless if we only have a tiny patch of land and think what can we do to help bees, surely it is down to the big commercials, landowners and farmers. Yes, it is down to them too but also we can help a lot.

If we put all the little gardens together, even just in containers we can do a lot to help bees in how we plant. Gardeners can help so much to give the bees a fair chance at recovery. Maureen Little, the author of Plants and Planting Plans for a Bee Garden: How to Design Beauitful Borders That Will Attract Bees is a professional garden designer and a beekeeper so well qualified to advise.

This book details how to plant borders so that it helps the bees. A garden like this can be so very beautiful and makes sound ecological sense too. Many bee-friendly plants are gorgeous!

This book shows you what makes a garden and plants bee-friendly. How to plant bee-friendly gardens of all sizes and different styles like cottage gardening, mixed gardening, traditional gardening and even specific color-themed borders. Ideas for herbs, fruit and vegetables are also described. So your garden can look beautiful, be wildlife-friendly to bees and other insects and be productive!

Usefully it covers whether your soil is acid or alkaline and even has ideas for container planting in Spring, Summer and Autumn/Fall. So if you only have room for some containers you can still attract and help bees. There is also an appendices of plants that are bee-friendly so its easy to find some that you may like.

Available in Paperback and Kindle versions at a very good price, I think this is a wonderful book for a gift for anyone who loves their garden to look beautiful and also cares about and wants to support bees.

Essential Wildlife Gardening Gifts For The Gardener.

    Purple Lavender Field

In this blog, I would like to share all the wonderful, practical, fun and beautiful gardening items that can so easily be gorgeous presents for the gardener, with essential wildlife gardening gifts.

Some will be specifically for the gardener who wants to do practical tasks and requires serious tools for the job. Others will be gorgeous and pretty things related to the garden. Some will be specifically for the wildlife in your garden and to attract more wildlife to your garden. I hope there will be a good spread to choose from for you.

As I also write on my other blog Diary Of A Wild Country Garden I will always have wildlife in mind in the garden so will be choosing items that blend with this ethos.

So you will find gardening gifts for men, women and children here. I do believe that anyone can be involved in the garden. Whether you have a huge garden or a simple window box, you are a gardener and can also help our wildlife in the way you garden. I hope to help you in that endeavour with lovely products for you and to gift to your friends and family. To grow a garden and protect and encourage wildlife is a beautiful gift.

I also have a special interest in gardening gifts for those who are less able to do gardening. I had severe back and sciatic pain for some time and I do need to be careful still. I was told that I would never garden again, but I love gardening and was determined to do it at whatever level I was able to and I succeeded!

If you have challenges of your own and want to garden then I believe on whatever level, you can. I got help from some great products and so will be listing these too over time. If you too have back or sciatic pain I do run a couple sites on this subject which you can see in my bio.

I think it is important to get children interested in gardening as young as possible and especially in gardening with wildlife as they are the ones that will be dealing with the world as it will be and hopefully will want to conserve our amazing wildlife, grow fruit and vegetables and understand plants and flowers and trees.

For children to have an understanding and joy of countryside, our natural world and our gardens is important to their well being now and in their future. So fun items for them to get involved and see results are important.

Essential wildlife gardening gifts can be great presents for Birthdays, Valentine's day, Mothers and Fathers Day , Grandparents Day, Christmas, as a Get Well Gift, and just to say you care anytime.

Let's make essential wildlife gardening fun, practical and uplifting and enjoy being a part of making beautiful gardens and helping our wildlife.

I love gardening and especially gardening with wildlife in mind. It is a real passion of mine and I love to share it. I do hope you enjoy the products I find.

    Thank You
